Q: Can I use your work for signature tags and PSP tubes? A: Sorry, no. Because of recent licensing infringment issues, I do not allow use of my artwork. However, my artwork is available through Creative Design Outlet for those who are interested. Thanks to all of you who understand and are respectful of the artist's rights. For more information on copyright, check out this website: United States Copyright Office
Q: Do you accept commissions? A: Rarely. Once in a while I will put up a listing on eBay for a commissioned piece.
Q: Can I link to your site? A: Absolutely. Much appreciated! If you are an artist or have a fairy site, I will reciprocate. Please link to www.mollyharrisonart.com.
Q: Where do your ideas come from? Your inspirations? Some people wonder how anyone can create numbers upon numbers of paintings of creatures and critters that are not from our own world. I have always been drawn to that type of imagery. My ispirations come from everywhere. I don't have just one ore two influences. Children's books, nature, and emotions are my main influences. Favorite artists: too many to name :) Q: I want a different size print than what is available. Can I get a different size? A: Sometimes. Please just email me and I'll let you know if I can make the size you want. I cannot go larger than 11 x 17. If you would like large posters, you can find those in my Zazzle shop. Q: What do you paint your paintings with....what is the process? A: Most of my paintings are a combination of watercolor and ink on watercolor paper. I also like to mix different mediums, like acrylics and watercolors, pastels, colored pencils. I don't have just one particular style of painting because I find it gets boring to keep doing the same thing over and over. You will notice some of my recent creations are more doll-like or in a big-eye style. I sometimes like to create these cutsie creatures...other times I like to create more statuesque and elegant fairies. I also paint wildlife and animals once in a while...another love of mine. I love art for the process and also for the product.
What are some of your favorite things? Music: Music, of course, helps the creative juices flow. Deeply emotional and melodic music really gets the artist in me going. Some of my favorites are Sting, U2, Dido, Sarah Brightman, Simon and Garfunkel, Enya, Pink Floyd, ect. The soundtrack from Nightmare before Christmas and The Corpse Bride. Favorite Color(s): Periwinkle, blue, purple, minty green Favorite Animal: Cat, hands down. Unicorn comes a close second, but are a bit harder to come by. Favorite Artist: I haven't narrowed it down yet. Hobbies: I love to play my keyboard, but I have been known to let time fly by when I begin playing. Anything crafty can easily become an addiction. I love reading. I find anything about the paranormal and also psychology interesting. I should probably have an excercise hobby, and I do walk frequently, but I will say that exercising has never been on my list of priorities - but as I get older and notice that things are not the same as they used to be, I guess I have to bite the bullet and get going. I've always loved the outdoors. Visiting the mountains always makes me feel alive and in touch with my spirituality. Living out in the country helps to feed the need for space and nature. There are deer, foxes, jack rabbits, the occasional coyote, and endless birds all around where I live. I have not mentioned spending time with my family....and of course, that is the most important of all. I love working in my kids' classrooms and helping out on fieldtrips, ect. I feel it is important for parents to see what is going on at school and stay involved in their kids lives. I am not a very social person, in fact very solitary. My social events are based around my kids and family. I love coffee, but I don't drink or smoke. My little boy asked me the other day, what would be your "dream job"...and I was stunned to hear myself say "I am doing it"! It might not be the ticket to getting rich quick, but it is deeply satisfying to know that something that comes from years of doodling, dreaming, and non wavering love of art has turned into a "job". I have to give a sincere thanks to all of you out there who appreciate my creations enough to buy them! Know that in each piece of art, whether a print, original, a product, or whatever, therein lies a piece of my heart Molly :)
Q: Can I get a tattoo using one of your images? A. Yes! And I would love to see a photo of your finished tattoo also :)
